And in a separate post, as a summary:
The CEO said, that there are two obstacles which prevent the production of new Firefly episodes (see the last paragraph of the article):
1. The actors are too old.
No, they are not, and even if they are, just leave it to Joss, how he incorporates their aging into the plot. I’m sure it would be no problem for him.
2. The set no longer exists
This is a tougher one, but if someone would seriously explore the possibilities, I’m sure they could figure out something. It shouldn’t be that expensive. One of the comments for the article even says: “I guarantee you, fans would volunteer to rebuild the sets for FREE if Netflix got Joss and the cast on board.” And this is true.
Additional facts:
- Nathan Fillion and the rest of the cast would be eager to play their roles again.
- I’m sure that Joss Whedon would be on board.
- Netflix is a great idea, Firefly is already around the top of their list of most viewed content!
So now that the excuses are invalid, dear Netflix, when can we expect the new episodes?

It will probably never happen…but dreaming about it is pretty beautiful.
